The delegation from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, led by Minister Dr. Jelena Begović, participated in this year's Web Summit in Lisbon, which was also an opportunity for a series of meetings with Portuguese and global authorities on the sidelines of the event.
Minister Dr. Jelena Begović was one of the speakers at this year's Web Summit. She discussed the global perspectives on technological regulations in the world with the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy of Cape Verde, Pedro Nuno Alves Fernandes Lopes. On this occasion, she provided an overview of the technology sector in Serbia, emphasizing the strategies Serbia is adopting to facilitate business. These measures have allowed a significant increase in exports from this industry - this year's export rate is 40%, for example.
On the panel, the minister also highlighted the fact that more than 350 participants of the Web Summit were from Serbia, which not only shows the strength of the startup community in the country but also its ability to connect with the global community. Along with the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Ambassador Ana Ilić, the minister visited several stands of Serbian representatives - Petsie, a startup that created a "smart toothbrush" for pets, fully developed in Serbia and for sale in the American market, Hipokratiju, a startup that developed a platform allowing patients to rate medical services in the private sector, and Syncit Group, a software company for developing web and mobile applications.
